Detailed Solution

It is given volume of water= 15.625 m3 and present depth of water=1.3 m.
The volume of the cube whose edge is x is given by,
  V= x 3   volume of the tank is 15.625 m 3   which implies,
x 3 =  15.625
x= 15625 1000 3   x= 25 3 10 3 3   x=2.5   m
Present depth of water is 1.3 m, so the depth of water used will be
2.51.3 =1.2m   So, the volume of the used water,
V=l×b×h   V=2.5×2.5×1.2   V=7.5   m 3   We know,
1 m 3    =1000 litres
V=7.5×1000  litres
V=7500  litres
Hence, the amount of water used is 7500 litres.
Therefore, the correct option is 3.
