In down stream = (x + 7) kmph

So, distance $= (x + 7) \times 9 = 9 x + 63 k m p h$

In up stream $= (x - 7) k m p h$

So, distance $= (x - 7) \times 14$

$= 14 x - 98 k m p h$

$∴ 9 x + 63 = 14 x - 98$

$14 x - 9 x = 98 + 63$

$5 x = 161$

$x = \frac{161}{5} = 32 \frac{1}{5} k m p h$

$x = 32 \frac{1}{5} k m p h$
