If the flame is perpendicular to the principal axis of the mirror, then distance of the image from the mirror is - 36 cm.
Given,
height of object h = + 1.5 cm.
focal length,f = -12 cm.
object distance, u =-18 cm.
Using mirror formula,
1v+1u=1f
Where f is the focal length, u is the object distance and v is the image distance.
1v=1f-1u
1v=1(-12)-1(-18)
v= -36 cm
