Mode =l+f-f12f-f1-f2×h
Where:
llower limit of the modal class
ffrequency of the modal class
f1frequency of the class preceding the modal class
f2frequency of the class succeeding the modal class
hclass width
from the given table, we get that the maximum frequency is 21 and the corresponding class is 30-40. Therefore, 30-40 is the modal class.
According to the situation,
l=30, h=10, f=21, f1=13 and f2=12 Putting the values in the formula, we get
Mode=30+21-1342-13-12×10  Mode=30+817×10
Mode=30+8017
Mode=30+4.71
Mode=34.71 Therefore, the mode of the given frequency distribution is 34.71.
