Detailed Solution

A sum of Rs. 500 is in the form of denominations of Rs. 5 and Rs. 10. If the total number of notes is 90, then the number of five-rupee notes is 80.
Assume, the number of five-rupee notes is x.
The number of ten-rupee notes is 90x  .
5x+90010x=500  5x=400 x=80
Hence, there are 80   five-rupee notes and 10 ten rupees notes.
