Detailed Solution

A tax levied by the Church was paid by the Third Estate in Livre currency.
Livre was the currency that was used widely in France. It was acceptable for all the exchanges. In late eighteenth-century France, a tax imposed by the Church, comprising one-tenth of the agricultural produce, was known as a Tithe. The Tithe was a church tax levied, consisting of one-tenth of the farm produce. This tax was paid in Livre currency only by the third estate, composed of peasants and farmers. The upper two estates were the ones who levied taxes upon them.
