It is given that a temple is having an iron pillar which is made up of a cylindrical part 2.8 m high having radius 10 cm and a cone 42 cm surmounted on its top.
We know that the formula for volume of the cylinder is

π r 2 h,

where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height of the cylinder.
The formula for volume of the cone is

13 π r 2 H,

where

is the radius of the cone and H is the height of the cone.
We know that
1 m = 100 cm
Here, the height of the cylinder is,

2.8 m = 280 cm .

Radius = 10 cm.
Height of the cone is 42 cm.
The volume of the pillar can be calculated as,

V = π r 2 h + 13 π r 2 H cm 3 = 227 × 10 × 10 280 + 13 × 42 cm 3 = 22007 × 280 + 14 ⇒ V = 92400 cm 3

It is given that

1 c m 2

of iron weighs 7.5g, therefore the weight of the pillar can be calculated as,

W = 92400 × 7.5 1000 kg = 693 kg

Therefore the weight of the pillar is 693 kg.
Hence, option (4) is correct.
