The interval between the fixed points on the given thermometer  $=95-5=90;$  the lower fixed point is 5. If ${\text{t}}_{\text{c}}$  is the correct temperature in ${\text{t}}_{\text{c}}$  is the correct temperature in$°\text{C}$ , then,

$\frac{\text{Reading}\text{-}\text{Lowerfixed}\text{point}}{\text{Interval}\text{between}\text{fixed}\text{points}}\text{=}\frac{{\text{t}}_{\text{c}}}{\text{100}}$

                                 Or

$\frac{\text{59}-\text{5}}{\text{90}}\text{=}\frac{{\text{t}}_{\text{c}}}{\text{100}}$

$\Rightarrow {\text{t}}_{\text{c}}=\frac{5400}{90}=60°\text{C}$
