and the train takes

to cross the bridge, the length of the train is

200 m

.
Let us consider the length of the train to be

x

Let the total distance covered by the train be

400 + x

We know that,

v = \frac{s}{t}

Here,

v = 30 m / s, s = 400 + x and t = 20 s

Now,

30 = \frac{400 + x}{20}

⇒

600 = 400 + x

⇒

x = 600 - 400

⇒

x = 200
