A train starting from rest attains a velocity of 80 km h^-1  in 7 minutes. Assuming that the acceleration is uniform, find the acceleration 

 

Concept:  Acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes over time, both in terms of speed and direction. A point or object moving in a straight line is accelerated if it accelerates or decelerates.

We have been given   $u= 0; v = 80 km{h}^{-1} = 22.2 m/s$ 

and t = 7  minutes = 420 s

we know that $a= \frac{v-u}{t}$

$a= \frac{22.2 m/s-0 m/s }{420 s}$

$a= 0.052 m/s^2$
