These paintings were generally done in miniature forms and were established and evolved from the 17th to the 19th century. Pahari paintings from India are classified into two categories based on their geographical origin. Basohli and Kullu Style is influenced by Chaurpanchasika style Guler and Kangra Style and is based on serene hues and alterations. Basohli paintings are well-known in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua area. This town has generated a stunning Devi series, a collection of incarnations of the Supreme Goddess. It is especially well-known for its beautiful rendering of the Rasamanjari text. Geometrical motifs, brilliant colours, and shiny enamel distinguish Basohli paintings.
