Consider a bar magnet placed on a table perpendicular to horizontal component of magnetic field.

Question Image

P will be a neutral point if

BS=BH+Bncosθ

A will be a neutral point if

Bncosα=BS+BH and this is not possible.

As the north pole is further away than the south pole. so Bn<BS.

Bncosα is even lesser than Bn.

So, Bncosα cannot be equal to BS+BH.

Hence only one such point possible to the north of the magnet.
