It is given that a wire of length 86cm   is bent in the form of a rectangle such that its length is 7 cm   more than its breadth.
Since a wire of length 86 cm is bent to form a rectangle, the perimeter of the rectangle = 86 cm.
Let x be the breadth of the rectangle.
Then, the length of the rectangle = (x + 7) cm.
We know that,
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (l + b)
2 (x + 7 + x) = 86
2 (2 x + 7) = 86
4 x + 14 = 86
4x = 86 – 14
4 x = 72
Dividing both sides by 4,
x = 18
Therefore,
x + 7 = 18 + 7 = 25
Thus, breadth of the rectangle is 18 cm and length of the rectangle is 25 cm.
Therefore, option 4 is correct.
