A woman has an X-linked condition on one of her X chromosomes.

That means, she is a carrier.

This chromosome can be inherited by both sons and daughters.

The resulting son will become diseased because X-linked disorder always affect males due to the presence of single X-chromosome.

Females can get an X-linked recessive disorder, but this is very rare.

An abnormal gene on the X chromosome from each parent would be required, since a female has two X chromosomes.
