Let the man displaces by 'x' by the time man walks 10m on the wooden log

The displacement of the man will be 10-x w.r.t ground.

since there is no external force actin on the system, the c.o.m will not move

$120 (10 - x) = 80 x$

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{80 x 10}{80 x 120} = 4 m ∴ Distance from the shore = (30 - 10) + 4 = 24 m$
