Find the area of square
Area of square = (side) 2  
Area= 14 2 Area=196 c m 2  
Area of quadrant = 1 4 π r 2  
Area of 4 quadrants of circles
Area=4× 1 4 ×π r 2 Area= 22 7 × 7 2 Area=22×7 Area=154c m 2  
Area of shaded region = Area of square – Area of 4 quadrants of circles
Area=196154 Area=42c m 2  
Area of shaded region =42c m 2  .
Therefore the answer is option (2).
