Given that a car travelled from A to B i.e. AB = s

With speed v1=40kmph

From B to D

BD = 2s

With speed v2=60kmph

AB=BC=CD

i)vAvg=[AtoC]=2v1v2v1+v2

=2(40)(60)40+60=2×2400100

vAvg=48kmph

ii) vAvg=[AtoD]=3ss40+2s60

=3s[140+260]=33+4120

=3×1207=3607=51.4km/h

vAvg=51.4kmph(AtoD)
