Acceleration of a particle must  change when

Keeping the direction of motion of a particle unchanged, if magnitude of its velocity changes at constant rate, its acceleration does not change; when magnitude of its velocity changes at variable rate, acceleration changes. But when the particle is moving along a curved path, direction of its velocity changes continuously hence acceleration of the particle also changes even if speed remains constant.
