Detailed Solution

According to Amir Khusro, Sanskrit was known only to Brahmanas. During the period of ancient and medieval India, dynasties like the Cholas, Tughlaqs and Mughals occupied many regions of India. To show the territorial extent they issued many prashastis which were mainly written in the Sanskrit language. According to Amir Khusro, this language of Sanskrit was known only to Brahmins and common people had no idea about this language. He also went on to say that every region had their separate language like Telugu or Telangani in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarati in Gujarat, Hindavi in and around Delhi etc. In contrast to this, he said that Sanskrit had no region of its own and it was widespread across the country.
