Detailed Solution

Concept: The French naturalist Jean Baptiste de Lamarck is credited with developing the Lamarckism theory. It is a hypothesis of evolution that is founded on the idea that an organism's physical makeup changes during the course of its existence.
Lamarckism is sometimes referred to as the notion of acquired character. Jean Baptiste Lamarck made the declaration. He also advanced a number of theories regarding evolution. According to Lamarckism, an organism can convey physical traits that it has acquired through usage or inactivity over the course of its lifetime to its progeny.
He used the example of giraffes as having a long neck. According to him, giraffes' progenitors had short necks and forelimbs similar to those of horses. They were living in areas where there was no access to food on the surface. They had to extend their necks and limbs to gather food. The pieces grew longer as a result.
