Detailed Solution

According to the 2011 census, Uttar Pradesh had the highest concentration of population, while Sikkim had the least population. Uttar Pradesh had a population of 199.5 million people. This is due to its geographical position on the Indian subcontinent. UP is one of India's biggest states in terms of area and population. The area is also covered with alluvial soil and plain land, which offers agriculture, urbanisation, and industrialisation, which attracts more people. The birth rate is also high in this state.
But on the other hand, Sikkim had the least population, with only 0.6 million, and Lakshwadweep had just 64 thousand people. This is also because of its geographical position. The former has an undulating and mountainous area which does not favour agriculture or industrialisation due to the harsh cold climate. At the same time, the latter is an island with frequent storms and tsunamis.
