Detailed Solution

According to the Census of India held in 2011, more than 1300 distinct languages were mentioned as their mother tongues by people.
In India, more than 1300 different languages were listed as native tongues in the 2011 census. These languages were subsequently combined under a few major languages. These languages include Bhojpuri, Magadhi, Bundelkhandi, Chhattisgarhi, and Rajasthani, which were all combined under the umbrella of Hindi. Even after grouping these languages, 121 additional languages remained; 22 of these 121 languages have since been added to the eighth schedule of the Indian Constitution and are now referred to as the Scheduled languages; the 121 additional languages are known as the Non-Scheduled languages.
