Detailed Solution

According to the Child Labour Prevention act of 2006, children below the age of 14 should not be employed. Child labour has been a problem in our country, which hinders tens of thousands of children from pursuing education. It is a reflection of the poverty present in our society. When a child has to take up manual labour in hazardous conditions, it risks their life and prevents them from getting educated. Therefore, the Government of India passed the Child Labour Prevention Act in 1986, which prohibited the employment of children under 14 years of age in hazardous occupations. It was further amended in 2006 to restrict their employment in dangerous or domestic work.
