Detailed Solution

All the distances measured along the direction of incident light i.e. along +ve x-axis.
All distances measured along the direction of the incident light, or along the +ve x-axis, are regarded as positive numbers by the new Cartesian sign standard for light reflection by spherical mirrors.
Sign conventions for spherical mirrors that reflect light.
(i) All distances are calculated using the mirror's pole as the starting point.
(ii)Always position the object to the left of the mirror.
(iii)Positive (+ve) distances are those measured in the direction of the incident light.
(iv) Negative distances are those measured away from the direction of the incident light (-ve).
(v) The perpendicular distances to the  principal  axis  in  the  upward   direction  are considered  to be positive (+ve).
(vi) The perpendicular distances to the axis in  the downward direction is taken as  negative (-ve).
