Detailed Solution

According to their age, alluvial soils can be classified as Old alluvial and New alluvial (Khadar).
Alluvial soil is the most common and essential soil. In reality, alluvial soil covers the entire northern plains. These soils also spread along a limited corridor in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Alluvial soil can also be found in the eastern coastal plains, particularly in the Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna, and Kaveri river deltas. Soils are classified according to their age. Alluvial soils are categorised into two types based on their age: old alluvial (Bangar) and new alluvial (Khadar). The Bangar soil possesses more Kanker nodules than the Khadar soil. It is more productive and has finer particles than the Bangar.
