Detailed Solution

After 1947, Raikas could no longer go to Sindh.
Pastoralists reacted to the changes introduced by the colonial government in numerous ways. Some discovered new grazing tracts when moving to old pastures became difficult, and others reduced the number of cattle. For example, before 1947, the Raikas could move to Sindh and let their camels graze. However, after 1947, the new boundary between Pakistan and India hampered their movement. As a result, some wealthy pastoralists gave up their nomadic ways, bought land, and settled—the poor ones survived by borrowing money from moneylenders.
