After the failure of the Round Table Conference Business classes were no longer uniformly enthusiastic about the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Though the Civil Disobedience Movement received active support from the industrialists and the business classes, they eventually lost initial devotion to it. They thought of expanding their business and making huge profits while the British were busy in the First World War and were slightly indifferent to their expansion. But when the Second Round Table Conference failed, Gandhi relaunched the movement. Thus the business class was alarmed by the spread of violence and obstruction of their businesses for an extended period. So they stopped endorsing the Civil Disobedience Movement.
