After the incident of Chauri-Chaura, Mahatma Gandhi decided to call off the Non-Cooperation Movement. The mass movement of Non-Cooperation reached its culminating point with the emergence of violent actions in the different parts of the Nation. Gandhi’s idea of Satyagraha was not perceived by everyone similarly. One utter violent event in Chauri Chaura, in Gorakhpur, made Gandhiji withdraw from the movement. At Chauri Chaura, a peaceful demonstration turned violent, and there was a clash between people and the police. The people set fire to the police station at midnight. This event was inconsistent with the satyagraha of Gandhiji. After this event, Gandhi decided to withdraw from the non-cooperation movement.
