Agricultural labourers do not have work throughout the year.
In India, there are many agricultural labourers in rural families. They depend on the work they do in the fields owned by others, like Ramalingam, who owns big chunks of land. The workers do not own any land, and some may own a small plot. For landless labourers, working on others' land is the only choice, and even one who owns small land could not grow enough crops to fulfil their needs. On top of this, agricultural workers only worked throughout the year because people only grew crops during the season. During the non-farming season, they do other work for a living, such as animal husbandry, dairy production, fishing, etc.
