Detailed Solution

Akbar ascended the throne under the patronage of Bairam Khan. He was only thirteen years old when his father, Emperor Humayun, died in 1556, and at the start of his reign, he led conquests alongside Bairam Khan. After a while, Akbar established himself as a sovereign and led military operations against Afghans and particularly Suris. He also waged war against the neighbouring kingdoms of Gondwana and Malwa while putting down uprisings by Uzbeks and his half-brother Mirza Hakim. In the end, Akbar took control of Ranthambore in 1569 and the Sisodiya capital of Chittor in 1568. He conducted military operations in Bihar, Gujarat, Bengal, and Orissa between 1570 and 1585. Between 1585 and 1605, when Akbar conquered Qandahar from the Safavids and acquired Kashmir and Kabul, his empire grew.
