Detailed Solution

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan started the Aligarh Movement.
The movement has its roots in Aligarh, which is also where it gets its name. Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College and a few more colleges that grew out of it were founded by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan served as the principal figurehead for the goals of the Aligarh movement. Sir Syed established the Madrasatul Uloom in Aligarh on May 24, 1875, modelling the MAO College after the universities of Oxford and Cambridge that he visited while in London.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the creator of Oriental College and all other educational institutions that grew out of it. For the Muslim community of British India, the Aligarh Movement pushed for the establishment of a modern educational and scientific system in the United Kingdom.
