The Nazis punished all Aryan women who deviated from the prescribed code of conduct. Aryan women who swerved from the prescribed code of conduct were punished and publicly condemned. Women who maintained contact with Poles, Russians, and Jews were forced to shave their heads and parade through the town. With placards hanging from their necks and blackened faces, they strolled in front of the public. The placards said, "I have sullied the nation's honour." Many women lost civic honour and received jail sentences for their "criminal offence." Some married women lost their husbands or even family. In Nazi Germany, girls had to maintain the purity of the race and distance themselves from the Jewish population. In addition, all they had to do was look after their families, teach their children Nazi values and ensure they bore only pure-blooded Aryan children.
