Detailed Solution

During somatic hybridization cells are first treated with cellulase and pectinase. These enzymes dissolve the cell wall and as result naked protoplasts are produced. The naked protoplast can then be fused with electrofusion or chemofusion. Use of lysozyme takes place when we want to remove the cell wall from bacteria and is of no use in somatic hybridization.
