All Indian Trade Union Congress is a pressure group.
Due to the influx of industrial workers around Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, and Surat, several strikes were aggravated. These strikes and protests exacerbated the birth of a trade union and the All India Trade Union Congress. AITUC became India's first and oldest trade union. AITUC is associated with the CPI, the Communist Party of India, founded by Lala Lajpat Rai in 1920. He became the first president of this party. The events of labour exploitation could be witnessed during the British reign when the trading class was emerging. Historical events like the October Revolution in 1917 in Russia and the opposition to the Rowlatt Act in cotton mills became the perfect sigma for the workers to protest collectively. Thus, the AITUC got established as a result.
