Detailed Solution

All the members of the Gram Sabha elect a leader who becomes the Sarpanch.
The Panchayati Raj system plays a vital role in the healthy functioning of democracy. It helps democracy to achieve decision-making and policy-making at the grassroots level. It enables local people to participate in the village administration. Gram sabha is one of the institutions of local self-government. All the people of the village who attain 18 years of age and are eligible for the right to vote are members of the Gram Sabha. All the members of the gram sabha elect a leader who is called the sarpanch of the village. All the meetings and proceedings of the town start with the sarpanch. Sarpanch called Gram Panchayat's secretary to call any meeting and keep a record of the meeting.
