Detailed Solution

All water moves within the hydrological cycle, ensuring that freshwater is a renewable resource. It takes the form of liquid, vapour and ice. The hydrological cycle consists of three major steps - evaporation, condensation and precipitation. First, the water on the earth's surface evaporates (the process of converting liquid into gas) and becomes water vapour. Then water vapour condenses (conversion of gas into liquid) to form clouds. Lastly, clouds result in precipitation. This cycle ensures a regular flow of water, which ensures that fresh water is renewed and recharged constantly.
