Detailed Solution

Alluri Sitaram Raju was the pioneer of Andhra Pradesh.
He started an effective guerilla campaign to expel the British by using the resentment of the Visakhapatnam, Ganjam, and Godavari hill people. Additionally, he protected PODU (Shifting) farming, a type of traditional village farming under threat from British land encroachment. The forest act of 1882 forbade the tribal people from cultivating minor forest produce necessary for their subsistence, and they were made to work for the colonial government instead. Alluri was captured and put to death in the Rampa or Manya rebellion of 1924, which saw anti-government resistance turn to guerilla warfare. He was a young man of 27 when he was martyred on May 7, 1924, for his support of the rights of tribal communities.
