Detailed Solution

Almost 20% of children aged 6-14 all over India do not go to school. Despite the provisions of free and compulsory education for children below 14 years by the government of India, many children remain out of school education, particularly in rural areas. The girls are made to do domestic chores. Spending on them is considered a burden by the rural poor. Though enrolment of boys in formal education is higher than that of girls, they drop out at the secondary and tertiary levels of education. The enrollment of girls in rural areas is much lower than that of their urban counterparts.
