Alpha particles that come closer to nuclei ______ .

Alpha particles is positively charged particles i.e. it is helium nuclei which contains two proton and two neutron. When it approaches the target nuclei, it experiences coulombic force of repulsion due to heavily positive charge present inside the nucleus. Because of which when they come closer to nuclei, they are deflected more.
