        Electrolysis of pure alumina presents several challenges. Pure alumina is a poor electrical conductor.
        Pure alumina has a fusing temperature of around 2000°C, and when electrolysis is performed on the fused mass at this temperature, the metal created evaporates because aluminium's boiling point is 1800°C.
        A blend of alumina(Al2O3), cryolite (Na3AlF6), and fluorspar is used to solve these issues (CaF2).
