The blue colour of the solution is due to ammoniated electrons
Solutions of alkali metals in liq.NH3 are good conductors of electricity& the electrical conductivity of these solutions is due to the movement of  ammoniated ions as well as ammoniated electrons, and hence they are said to be mixed conductors
The solution of alkali metals in liquid NH3 are paramagnetic, the paramagnetic nature of these solutions is due to presence of unpaired electrons [Ammoniated electrons]
On long standing the solution, slowly liberates H2 with the formation of (sodamide) amide
Due to the ammoniated electrons the solution is acting as strong reducing agent.
On increasing the concentration of solution, the blue colour changes to bronze colour and paramagnetic character changes to diamagnetic i.e.,paramagnetism decreases
