 Fare for each km after the first = Rs.8 = d

The fare  would be 20, 28, 36, 34, ….

B) Let the volume of air in a cylinder, initially, be V litres.

Quantity removed in first step $V\times \frac{1}{4}=\frac{V}{4}$

$\Rightarrow V-\frac{V}{4}=\frac{3}{4}V$

Quantity removed in second step $=\frac{3V}{4}\times \frac{1}{4}=\frac{3V}{16}$

$\therefore \frac{3V}{4}-\frac{3V}{16}=\frac{9V}{16}$

$\therefore$it is not an A.P

C) Cost of digging well first meter = Rs.150

Cost of digging well second meter $=Rs150+Rs.50=200$

 Cost of digging well third meter $=200+50=250$

$\therefore$The series is 150, 200, 250, ….

So, it is an A.P.

D) Given amount $=Rs.10,000$

 Compound interest = 8%

  Amount $=P{(1+\frac{R}{100})}^T$

1^st year $=10,000\times {(1+\frac{8}{100})}^1$

$=10,000\times \frac{108}{100}=10800$

 2^nd year   $=10000\times {(1+\frac{8}{100})}^2$

$=10000\times \frac{108}{100}\times \frac{108}{100}=11664$     

  3^rd year $=10000\times {(1+\frac{8}{100})}^3$

 $=10000\times \frac{108}{100}\times \frac{108}{100}\times \frac{108}{100}=12597.12$

10800, 11664, 12597.12, ……

 It is not an A.P
