As given in the question, mass of alloy = 1kg.
We know that a% of b =

\frac{a}{100} \times b

where a and b are real numbers.
Mass of copper = 32% of 1kg.

\Rightarrow

Mass of copper =

0.32 kg

Mass of nickel = 40% of 1 kg.

\Rightarrow

Mass of nickel =

0.4 kg

Mass of zinc = 1 - (0.32 + 0.4).

\Rightarrow

Mass of zinc = 0.28 kg
