$\Rightarrow {\mathrm{R}}_{\mathrm{eq}, \mathrm{final}}<{\mathrm{R}}_{\mathrm{eq},\mathrm{initial}}$

As, the battery is same, current through the circuit will increase.

So, the reading of the ammeter will increase.

$\mathrm{V}=\mathrm{E}-{\mathrm{iR}}_{\mathrm{A}}$

As, current through the circuit increases, reading of the voltmeter will decrease.
