200 m in 40 s

. The distance covered at the end of

2 minutes and 20 s

will be

220 m

.
Given:

diameter = 200 m, time = 2 minutes 20 seconds

= 2 \times 60 + 20

= 140 s .

Length of circular track = circumference of the circular track
We know Circumference

πd = \frac{22}{7} \times 200 m

.
⇒ Circumference

= \frac{4400}{7} m

.
Therefore, distance travelled in

40 s = \frac{4400}{7} m

.
Distance travelled in 1

s = \frac{4400}{(7 \times 40)}

= \frac{110}{7} m

Distance travelled in

2 minutes and 20 seconds

= \frac{110}{7} \times 140

= 220 m
