   An electric bulb is rated 220 V and 100 W. When it is operated on 110 V, then the  power consumed by the bulb is 25 W.
Given,
Voltage of the electric bulb (V)= 220 V ………….. (i)
Power of the electric bulb (P) = 100 W   ……………. (ii)
We know that P= V2R
So, the resistance of the bulb (R) = V2P =220×220 100
Now put the values of equations (i) and (ii) in equation (iii) we get,
 =220×220 100
= 484 Ω  ………………. (iv)
Now when the bulb connected to 110 V then the power consumed (P’) is,
P' =V2R …………………. (v)
Now put the value of equation (iv) in equation (v)
P'= 110×110484 
P'= 12100484
P' = 25 W
