Detailed Solution

An electric cell converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
An electric cell is a device that has energy stored in the form of chemical energy. When we connect a circuit, it converts chemical energy to electrical energy.
It has two terminals made up of metal: one of its two terminals is positive (+), and the other one is negative (-). Electric current flows through the electric circuit when the two terminals are connected to an electrical device.
An electrochemical cell consists of electrodes, namely a cathode and an anode.
An external source of current controls the non-spontaneous reaction.
The decomposition of an electrolytic solution by passing current, which results in the liberation of corresponding gasses, is known as electrolysis.
