An electric motor takes 5 A from a 220 V line. The power of the motor is, 1100 and the energy consumed in 2 hour is 7.92 ×106 J.
It is known that the energy consumed (E) is given by the product of power (P) and time (t) and the power P of the electrical appliance is given by the product of the potential difference V and the current I flowing through it.
It is given that current I=5 A, potential difference, V=220 V and time t=2 h=7200 s Mathematically, the power P of the appliance is given by
= VI 
On substituting the given values, we get the power as
P= 220×5
P=1100 W
Similarly, the energy consumed can be mathematically represented as
E=P× t
On substituting the values, We get the energy consumed as
E=1100×7200
E=7.92×106 J.
Hence, the power consumed by the motor is, 1100 W and the energy consumed is 7.92×106 J.
