Detailed Solution

An image of the same size is obtained if the object is placed in front of a convex lens at twice the focal length.
We know that a convex lens is also called a converging lens, and all the incident rays converge at F (Principal focus). We get a real, inverted, and same-sized image when the object is placed at a distance equal to 2F. The ray from the object is parallel to the principal axis. One ray will go through the center of curvature, and another ray through the focus of the lens on the other side. Both these rays meet at a point at 2F on the other side of the lens. The image is formed beneath the principal axis.
