Detailed Solution

An International Military Tribunal was established to prosecute Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg.
Former Nazi officials were charged and tried as war criminals during the Nuremberg trials, which occurred in Nuremberg, Germany, between 1945 and 1946. After World War II, the victorious Allied nations established the first international criminal tribunals to try high-ranking military and political figures for war crimes and other atrocities. The International Military Tribunal (IMT) was established in Nuremberg, Germany, by the four major Allied powers, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States, to try and punish war criminals of the European axis. The Nuremberg Charter also stated that the IMT had the power to prosecute and sentence anyone for crimes against humanity, war crimes, and peace.
